Education programs are designed to promote whale conservation through in-school programs by highlighting local knowledge about cetaceans (whales and dolphins) coupled with accurate scientific information.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS

"Live Free in the Sea"

Live Free in the Sea, is an environmental programme focused on building the knowledge and awareness of children about the coastal and marine environment. It is a partership between WDCS (Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society), ECCN and the EC Island Coordinators. The theme of the programme is “What we do on land affects the sea."

Additionally, ECCN:

-Teaches courses on field identification of whales and dolphins.

-Develops training programs for teachers, naturalists, fisheries officers, and interested parties on field identification and stranding protocols.
-Creates educational materials about whales and their habitats.
